Zandstra Resurfacing Powder
High-quality resurfacing powder for grinding and flattening your natural sharpening and debur stones. Yes, you can use your Foss sharpening stone without oil, but you will need to resurface it regularly in order to keep producing 90-degree edges on your blades. The grit is a slightly more coarse than the Viking Resurfacing Powder because the Foss Stone is a carbide made natural stone.
Directions for use:
Lightly sprinkle one pinch of resurfacing powder on a large piece of glass or granite and grind the sharpening stone in circular motions on top of the resurfacing powder. Rotate the stone and change the direction of the circle every few circles to prevent an uneven finish. Depending on the wear of your stone you may need to clean the glass or granite surface to repeat the process until your stone is flat and looks new.
